The Academy of Chinese, History, Religion, and Philosophy (CHRP) was officially launched on July 1, 2024, as part of the newly established Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) at HKBU. Building on a rich history of excellence from the departments of Chinese Language and Literature, History, and Religion and Philosophy, we aim to create a dynamic academic environment that bridges tradition and innovation.

The Academy's mission is to promote interdisciplinary research and education in the humanities while fostering critical thinking and intellectual curiosity. We equip students with the skills to effectively address current global challenges by fusing the strengths of our disciplines.

Working alongside the FASS community, CHRP seeks to align with HKBU’s strategic vision of excellence in research, education, and societal impact. Our initiatives are designed to extend academic boundaries and facilitate knowledge transfer that benefits both the university and the surrounding community.

We seek input and cooperation from students, faculty, alumni, and stakeholders as we strive to refine our identity within FASS. Collectively, we can foster an academic environment that inspires innovation, promotes empathy, and confronts vital issues through the lens of the humanities.

Let us collaborate to shape a future where knowledge surpasses boundaries, enhancing both personal growth and societal well-being.
